The Simple Sample is an indie rock band from Jakarta. Officialy formed in 2008, these five guys : Iwa (Lead vox/Guitar) , Dimas (Vox/Lead Guitar) , Nikki (Vox/Keyboard), Latif (drums), and Reza (Bass), were met in the same High School in south Jakarta. This band actually is the evolution from their previous school-band’s project. in 2009, with other 9 bands from Jakarta, they were chosen as top 10 finalist on Unsigned Group Competition which held by one of biggest radio in Jakarta, Mustang FM. In September, They also chosen as the featured artist on Sixteenhole.com. One year after that, in March 2010, The Simple Sample were involved on International Myspace Indie Chart, 3 weeks straight. The Simple Sample music is mostly influenced by 80’s new wave and 90’s britpop, with little bit 60’s vocals harmony. They called this mixed melody as the British-vintage pop.
