Artist Bio

Darko The Magnificent Born Michael Mitchell was raised in the Central City Uptown area of New Orleans, La. Discoverd at age 19 by Big Daddy and Bossman of N.O. local fame, Darko recored his first studio freestyle with a verse the local hit Ya Heard Me the remix. Accompanied by fellow Death Squad Member Agony A.D. Darko would sharpen his skills with many peformances through out Louisiana and eventually introduced to Houston, Tx MC E.S.G. in 1993 Darko was taken under the wing of E.S.G. and leared the skills of mixology and stage presence. It was E.S.G. who would who would open up the door for Darko in Lafayette, La as the popularity of the Ya Heard Me remix ran rapid on the campus of U.L.L. catapulting Darko into the near celebrity status. As a trained battle rapper thanks in part to summer visits to Brooklyn, New York as an adolescent, Darko brought back to an unfair advantage in the way of freestyle rap. Many southern artists would attempt to challenge Darko to battle rap and eventually lose, as lyrical supremacy was indeed evident as the fear factor was established. Once Darko returned to the city of New Orleans for good, he would be introduced to Mystikal. The two formed a bond and began to constuct songs together, thus establishing Darko to become stronger lyricist and more in-dept writer. It was through Mystikals tuteledge that Darko would transform himself from mere MC to Magnificent rhyme spitter that he is today. Blending lyrical fortitude and catchy chorus lines, Darko has created a winning formula in the attempt to restore creativity to the game of Hip-Hop and salvage declining record sales.
